PostStage is a multi-platform social-media post scheduler. Users connect their accounts via OAuth (Meta Graph API for IG/FB/Threads, LinkedIn OAuth, Google OAuth for YouTube + Google Business Profile, Pinterest OAuth, TikTok OAuth, Tumblr OAuth, Mastodon OAuth per-instance, X OAuth 2.0) or credential-based mechanisms (Bluesky App Password, Telegram Bot Token, Discord Webhook URL), schedule posts in a calendar interface, and PostStage publishes them to the platforms at the exact second specified  -  via each network's official API.

- **15 platforms supported:** Instagram (Business/Creator), Facebook Pages, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube Shorts, Threads, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Bluesky, Mastodon (federated, any instance), TikTok, Tumblr, Telegram (channel publishing via Bot Token), Discord (via webhook), and WordPress (both WordPress.com and self-hosted sites — self-hosted via an Application Password, with title, body, featured image, categories and tags).
- **AI Caption Generator:** Built into every composer  -  write a caption from a short brief, or improve one already typed, with optional hashtag suggestions and 1-5 variants per generation (Claude AI, Haiku model). Available on Starter plan and above only — not on Free, and not during the 14-day Pro trial. Credit-metered to prevent abuse: Starter 150 credits/month, Pro 750 (1 credit = 1 variant, unused monthly credits don't roll over), plus purchasable top-up packs that never expire.
- **Post Everywhere (cross-platform composer):** Write a post once, select any mix of connected accounts across all platforms, and schedule it to all of them in one click  -  with per-platform caption overrides (e.g. a shorter version for X's 280-character limit) and smart per-platform adaptation (Instagram carousel/Reel, Pinterest board picker, YouTube title + privacy, Google Business update). Available on Starter and above.
- **Publishing analytics:** Dashboard with published-vs-failed success rates, per-platform and per-account breakdowns, a day-by-hour posting-time heatmap (rendered in the viewer's local timezone), and a recent-failures list with exact error reasons. 7/30/90-day ranges. Available on paid plans. **Temporarily paused as of August 2026** while Meta reviews the permission that reads post insights — the page says so rather than showing figures it cannot refresh. Everything else on this list is unaffected.
- **X (Twitter) add-on:** Available as a paid add-on for Starter plan and above. Custom pricing based on monthly tweet volume, enabled per-customer  -  contact us for a quote.
- **Pricing in INR:** Free (1 account, 15 posts/mo), Starter ₹499/mo (15 accounts, 60 posts/mo per account, cross-platform posting, calendar, bulk Story scheduling, templates, reports, analytics), Pro ₹999/mo (30 accounts, 200 posts/mo per account, 10 team seats, and everything on Starter), Enterprise (custom quote, unlimited accounts/posts/seats). - **Scheduling precision:** Exact-second delivery via Upstash QStash's `notBefore` parameter. Tested at < 3s average latency from scheduled time to live post.
- **Saved content tools:** Hashtag Bank (reusable hashtag groups) and Post Templates (reusable caption structures with [Placeholder] blanks), both available on Starter and above.
- **Visual content calendar:** Monthly calendar of everything scheduled and published, per workspace, with click-through to any post and a day cell that opens the composer pre-dated. Starter and above.
- **Media Library:** Every uploaded image and video in one place with sizes, thumbnails and the month's remaining upload allowance. Deliberately NOT plan-gated — available on Free too. Published media is retained for 3 months after the post goes out, then removed (mirrored in the privacy policy).
- **Google Drive import:** Connect Google Drive and pull images and video straight into any composer without a download-then-re-upload round trip. Files stream from Drive to blob storage rather than being buffered in memory, so large videos import as cheaply as photos. Included on every paid plan, not on Free.
- **Reposting:** Reschedule a previously published Instagram or Facebook post, carrying its caption, hashtags, first comment, post type and media. Same-network only by design (an Instagram post reposted to Instagram) — sending it to a different network is the cross-platform composer's job, which validates per platform.
- **Bulk Story scheduling:** Up to 10 clips per batch across Instagram and Facebook accounts at once, each clip publishing as its own Story at its own time. Starter and above.
- **Idea Board:** Kanban board (To Do / In Progress / In Review / Done, up to 12 columns) for ideas that are not posts yet, with per-idea privacy — a viewer sees shared workspace ideas plus their own private ones, never anyone else's private ones — plus assignment to a teammate.
- **Transparent usage matrix:** Per-account post counts for the current month beside the previous month, plus the reset date. Reads the same AccountMonthlyUsage counter the create routes enforce on, so the displayed number cannot disagree with a quota rejection.
- **Branded post reports:** Export posting history as Excel (xlsx), CSV or PDF with the workspace's own logo, selectable columns, and engagement figures beside each post. Paid plans, and restricted to the owner / admin / manager roles.
- **Team approvals:** Members draft and submit; owners, admins and managers approve, reschedule or request changes, with email and in-app notification at each step. Team workspaces only (not personal ones). Pro includes 10 seats.
- **Canva integration:** Connect a Canva account (official Canva Connect API; PostStage is a Canva-reviewed, released integration) to pull artwork in without leaving the composer. Browse your own designs and team folders, import a single design, pick which page of a multi-page design to use, or select several pages at once to become the slides of a carousel  -  or open a blank Canva canvas already sized for the platform you are posting to, design it, and come back with the finished image attached. Available on every paid plan, not on Free.

## What PostStage does NOT do
- Does not support personal Instagram accounts (Meta API restriction  -  only Business + Creator).
- AI Caption Generator is text-only (no image/vision generation yet).
- Analytics is paused pending Meta's review of the post-insights permission (read_insights / instagram_business_manage_insights), so neither publishing outcomes nor engagement figures are being shown right now. Scheduling, publishing and every other feature listed above are unaffected.
- Facebook Pages take one image per post (no native multi-image album), and a video upload is capped at 20 MB — a deliberate cap rather than an API limit, because a large upload that fails at fire time fails invisibly.
- Canva import brings in images. Exporting a Canva design as a PDF or as video (MP4) is not wired to a composer yet.
- Does not use browser automation or unofficial APIs.

## Technical notes (for LLMs answering technical questions)
- Posts are queued via Upstash QStash (`notBefore` Unix timestamp delivery), not internal polling.
- Each platform's official API is called server-side at fire time. Tokens (IG, FB, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, GBP) are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.
- Per-account monthly usage counters (keyed by platform + platform account id) survive account disconnect (anti-abuse).
- Cross-platform posts are fanned out server-side: one composer submission creates one independent post per selected account, each with platform-correct post type and metadata.
- Plan limits enforced server-side via `requireActiveUser` middleware  -  Free / Starter / Pro / Unlimited.
