Vista Social vs Later: Which Instagram Scheduler Fits?
Vista Social and Later both schedule Instagram posts, Reels and Stories, and both come up when people look for a step up from posting by hand. They're built around different ideas, though, and priced very differently.
- Later is a visual planner. It's built around seeing your feed before it goes live, with a link-in-bio page included, and it starts at $18.75 a month.
- Vista Social is an all-in-one management tool. It does more for Instagram in particular (trending audio, tags, several scheduled comments), adds review management and agency features, and starts at $79 a month billed yearly.
Here's how they compare, from each company's own pricing pages and help centres, checked in October 2026.

Price: Later is cheaper to start, Vista includes more people
Later's Starter plan is $18.75 a month billed yearly. It covers one "social set" of 8 profiles, one profile from each network Later supports, for one user, with 30 posts per profile a month. Growth ($37.50) doubles the profiles, adds a second user and raises posts to 180 per profile. Scale ($82.50) covers 48 profiles and 4 users with no post limit. Extra users cost $5 each, but not on Starter.
Vista Social starts at Professional: $99 a month, or $950 a year (about $79 a month), for 15 profiles and 2 users with no stated post limit. Advanced is $199 a month, or $1,910 a year, for 30 profiles and 3 users. Scale is $449 a month for 70 profiles and 4 users.
For one person posting a few times a week to one Instagram account, Later Starter costs about a quarter of Vista's entry plan. For daily posting, Starter's 30 posts per profile a month runs out, and Later Growth ($37.50) is the fairer comparison. Vista is still more than double that.
Instagram: Vista does more, Later keeps it simple
Reels. Both auto-publish Reels and let you choose the cover. Vista lets you add "Instagram's trending music or original sounds" to a Reel. Later's auto-published Reels "support original audio only", so a trending sound means finishing the post in the Instagram app.
Stories. Vista auto-publishes Stories from Business and Creator accounts, one Story at a time. Later auto-publishes Stories only from Business accounts; Creator accounts get a reminder to post them by hand. Neither can add stickers, a limit of Instagram's API that applies to every outside tool.
Carousels. Both publish carousels of up to 10 photos and videos, mixed.
First comment. Vista can schedule up to 10 comments under a post, on every plan. Later schedules a first comment on paid plans, for posts it auto-publishes.
Collaborators and tags. Vista invites up to 5 collaborators and tags people, products and locations. Later invites up to 3 collaborators.
One condition on Vista: its auto-posting needs your Instagram account "linked to a Facebook Page".
Planning: Later's home turf
Later's Visual Planner is the reason many people choose it: drag and drop posts and see how they'll sit in your grid before they go live, on every plan. Vista has a grid preview and an Instagram Planner with drag and drop too, so the gap is smaller than it used to be. Later's version is still the one built around it.
Both suggest when to post: Later on every plan for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, Vista from your last 90 posts.
Beyond Instagram: Vista's extras
Vista Social goes further than scheduling:
- Review management for Google Business, Facebook, Yelp, Tripadvisor and others, with replies on Google and Facebook. Useful for restaurants, clinics and shops.
- A social inbox for comments and messages, on every plan.
- Agency features: single-step approvals on every plan; multi-step approvals, branded PDF reports and client approval through a shared link (no login) from Advanced; your own domain from Scale.
Later stays focused on planning, publishing and its link-in-bio page.
Which should you pick?
Pick Later if you're a creator or small brand that plans visually, posts a few times a week, and wants the lowest price for a polished planner and link-in-bio page.
Pick Vista Social if you need trending audio on Reels, several scheduled comments, collaborators and tags, or you manage reviews and clients. It costs more because it does more.
A third option: PostStage
If neither fits, PostStage sits between them on price and is built for publishing on time:
- Business and Creator accounts both auto-publish posts, carousels, Reels with a cover you pick, and Stories, with no Facebook Page needed.
- A first comment on every plan, Free included, and Collab posts with up to 3 co-authors.
- Posts go out at the exact second you schedule them, on Instagram and 15 other networks.
- Price: Free for 1 account; Starter is ₹499 a month (₹399 billed yearly), or $6 ($5 yearly) outside India, for 15 accounts and 60 posts per account a month.
It doesn't do trending audio, tags, a grid planner or review management.
