Tailwind vs RecurPost: Which One Should You Pick?

People compare Tailwind and RecurPost because both promise the same thing: keep your social accounts busy without posting by hand every day. Until recently they overlapped a lot. In 2026 they don't.

The short answer: pick Tailwind if Pinterest is where your traffic comes from. Pick RecurPost if you want a library of evergreen posts recycled across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other networks. If you need both Pinterest and the other networks on one schedule, read the last section.

The big change: Tailwind is now a Pinterest tool

On 25 September 2026 Tailwind replaced its Pro, Advanced and Max plans. In Tailwind's own words, it is now "sold as three Pinterest tools you can buy separately, or together as a Bundle", and "the current plans are for Pinterest. Scheduling to Instagram and Facebook is available only on legacy plans."

If you already pay for an old Tailwind plan, you keep it, Instagram and Facebook included, for as long as your subscription stays active. If you're choosing a tool today, Tailwind schedules Pinterest only. That makes this less of a head-to-head than it used to be.

Tailwind: what you get now

Tailwind's plans are priced per Pinterest account. Billed yearly, they work out to:

  • Pin Scheduling & Creation: $17.99 a month ($29.99 billed monthly), with 300 credits a month. Scheduling, SmartPin and the Ghostwriter AI writer.
  • Pinterest SEO: $11.99 a month ($14.99 monthly), with 50 credits. Keyword research and the tools to rank Pins.
  • Pinterest Engagement: $11.99 a month ($14.99 monthly), with 50 credits. Mainly Turbo, Tailwind's community-powered boost for your best Pins.
  • Bundle of all three: $29.98 a month billed yearly ($44.98 monthly), with 400 credits.

Credits do the counting. Scheduling one Pin costs 1 credit, a SmartPin 3 to 7, and a Turbo boost 7 to 15. Extra credits cost $10 for 100.

Where Tailwind is strong: it knows Pinterest. SmartSchedule suggests time slots from when your audience is active (you can still set your own times). Interval scheduling spreads a batch of Pins over days, Pin Spacing stops Pins to the same link from going out back to back, and SmartPin turns pages from your website or RSS feed into fresh Pins. Its free Smart.bio link-in-bio page for Instagram is still available too.

Where it isn't: anything other than Pinterest, for new customers. Even on the legacy plans, Tailwind's own help pages say Instagram Stories go out by phone notification rather than automatically, Creator accounts can't use auto-post, and the first-comment option only moves your hashtags into the first comment.

RecurPost: what you get

RecurPost has four plans, billed in US dollars:

  • Starter: $9 a month, 2 social accounts, 1 user
  • Personal: $25 a month, 5 social accounts, 1 user
  • Agency: $79 a month, 20 social accounts, 3 users
  • Enterprise: custom pricing, 100+ accounts

Yearly billing gives two months free. Extra accounts cost $4 a month each, and extra team members $20 a month each. Every plan has a 14-day free trial without a card, but there's no permanent free plan.

Where RecurPost is strong: recycling. You put posts in a library, give the library time slots, and RecurPost keeps sharing them on that schedule indefinitely, working through the list in order. One-time libraries post each item once and then retire it. Stored library posts are unlimited on every plan; what changes between plans is how many posts each account can send a day. It publishes to ten networks, including LinkedIn company pages, Google Business Profile and Bluesky. Bulk upload from CSV or Excel, a social inbox and AI writing are on every plan, and client approvals and white-label reports come with Agency.

Where it isn't: Pinterest depth. RecurPost posts Pins, but it has none of Tailwind's Pinterest SEO, Pin spacing or community tools. And recycling suits content that doesn't date. If most of your posts are about this week's launch or today's offer, the library model matters less.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Tailwind if:

  • Pinterest drives real traffic or sales for you (food, home, fashion, weddings, DIY, printables)
  • You want Pinterest keyword research, SmartPin and Turbo, not just a scheduler
  • You run one or two Pinterest accounts, so per-account pricing stays small

Pick RecurPost if:

  • You have a back catalogue of evergreen posts (tips, testimonials, blog links) you want to keep circulating
  • You post to several networks, especially LinkedIn, Facebook and Google Business Profile
  • You're an agency that wants client approvals and white-label reports at $79 a month

Pick neither if you want Pinterest and Instagram, Facebook and the rest on one schedule. A new Tailwind plan won't do that, and RecurPost is built around recycling rather than planning new posts.

A third option: PostStage

PostStage is a scheduler built in India that publishes to 16 networks from one composer, Pinterest included. On Pinterest you pick the board and set the title, description and destination link, and PostStage shows each Pin's impressions, saves, Pin clicks and outbound clicks. The same post can go to Instagram (Reels, carousels, Stories), Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, Google Business Profile, TikTok and more in one go, at the exact second you schedule it.

Two honest limits. PostStage doesn't have Tailwind's Pinterest SEO, SmartPin or Turbo. And its recycling is simpler than RecurPost's: Evergreen repeats send a published Instagram, Facebook or TikTok post out again every 30, 60, 90 or 180 days, with optional AI rewording, rather than looping a whole library.

What it does differently is price. Starter is ₹499 a month (₹399 billed yearly) for 15 accounts, paid in rupees by UPI, RuPay, net banking or card, with no dollar conversion. Pro is ₹999 a month for 30 accounts and 10 team seats. Outside India that's $6 and $12. Both have a 14-day free trial without a card.

Frequently asked questions

Can Tailwind still schedule Instagram posts? Only on legacy Pro, Advanced and Max plans, which are no longer sold. Tailwind's plans since 25 September 2026 are for Pinterest. If you cancel a legacy plan, it can't be restarted.

Is RecurPost cheaper than Tailwind? For one Pinterest account, they're close: Tailwind's Pin Scheduling & Creation is $17.99 a month billed yearly, and RecurPost Starter is $9 a month for two accounts on any of its networks. They're priced for different jobs, though. Tailwind's price includes Pinterest-specific tools, and RecurPost's covers ten networks with recycling.

Does RecurPost have a free plan? No. It has a 14-day free trial on every plan, with no card needed.

Does Tailwind have a free plan? Each Pinterest account gets a one-time set of free actions, including 10 scheduled Pins and 5 SmartPins. They don't reset each month.

Which is better for an Indian business? Both bill in US dollars, so an Indian card pays the dollar price plus the bank's conversion fee. RecurPost's site can show prices in rupees, but the charge is converted from dollars at payment. If paying in rupees by UPI matters to you, that's one reason to look at PostStage.
